Rooftop solar in Jharkhand: JBVNL, net metering and savings
Jharkhand's power distribution is run by JBVNL (Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited), the state DISCOM covering Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and the districts between. PM Surya Ghar in Jharkhand
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana gives ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, an extra ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW, capped at ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above, for residential systems up to 10 kW. It is paid by Direct Benefit Transfer after commissioning and inspection, and collateral-free loans near 7 percent help fund the rest; test instalments with the solar loan EMI calculator. Jharkhand does not presently add a confirmed separate per-kW capital subsidy for residential rooftop on top of this, so our state top-up stays at zero. Programmes run through JREDA change, so confirm any current incentive before installing.
